How to Make Homemade Kahlua

We love to make something special for a gift or party beverage. Homemade Kahlua always pops up in our mind. We made few bottles of Homemade Kahlua with our Madagascar vanilla beans for a Christmas gift.

Kahlua is rich coffee and vanilla flavoured liqueur that excellent for sipping or mixing in many recipes.
Homemade Kahlua is very easy to make. Few simple ingredients and steps make beautiful tasty Homemade Kahlua. You will love it and will never buy a store brand!


1 cup instant coffee crystals
6 cups sugar
3 cups water
3 cups vodka, rum or brandy (40% alcohol)   - your choice
2 whole vanilla beans


How to make
Bring 3 cups of water to boil and reduce heat to low. Add 1 cup of instant coffee crystal and 6 cups of sugar and stir until completely dissolve. Cool down to room temperature.
Add 3 cups of alcohol and stir until nicely mix and pour the mix to glass bottle. Split 2 vanilla beans into half and add into the glass bottle.
Keep the bottle in cool and dark place for 2-3 weeks to age the flavour.
